Cruyff revels in Catalunya performance

Catalunya coach Johan Cruyff was delighted with the performance of his young charges after drawing 0-0 with Tunisia in Friday s friendly.

Catalunya dominated possession during the fixture but could not break down the Africans determined defence and in the end had to be content with a goalless result.

The Dutch legend explained that he was content with what he saw and that he was not too disappointed with his team s failure to win the match.

Winning a championship sounds great, but what really interests me is quality football, he told reporters after the match.

If you look at the first and second halves, this team has every chance of playing anywhere and winning any game.

Cruyff was especially encouraged by what he saw in the second half, when he tried out youngsters like Isaac Cuenca in the first team.

Everyone had a great time, maybe we were missing a goal but we played at a great level, he said, pointing out that his second-half line-up had an average age of 21 years .

Cruyff took over at the helm of Catalunya in November 2009 and directed his third game against Tunisia, the others finishing in victories over Argentina and Honduras.

Tunisia now travel to Dubai where they will continue their 2012 Africa Cup of Nations preparations with friendlies against Cote D Ivoire and Sudan.
